Are you passionate about shaping impactful medical strategies in oncology? We are seeking a dynamic Medical Therapeutic Area Head to drive the development and execution of strategic and operational International & Global Medical Affairs programs within the therapeutic area of solid tumours in Spain. This role plays a key part in delivering innovative evidence generation, launch readiness, and post-market solutions—ensuring alignment with patient needs, clinical priorities, and healthcare system value. You will provide expert input across the full lifecycle of medical initiatives, from design to execution, and lead the development of Integrated Evidence Plans to maximize the value and impact of our launch portfolio.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of high-quality medical strategy for the disease area(s) and vision for the brand(s) throughout its lifecycle, at country level.
  • Design and implementation of innovative medical affairs plan(s) addressing medical needs, including RWE/ evidence generation, HEOR, digital technology, innovative education and scientific communication, etc. Shapes region or country activities to address local needs in line with international & global strategy.
  • Serves as disease area medical expert for internal stakeholders from different line functions as well as external customers, including health care professionals, and patient advocacy groups.
  • Builds together with Medical Lead the Medical Affairs strategy and plans, publications, internal and external educational activities as well as other communication activities involving Medical Experts.
  • Provides capability building plan for field medical associates, including disease area and product specific content to train region or country medical associates.
  • Provides medical scientific input for brand/program documents, including integrated disease area plans, Medical Information documents, Drug Safety reporting documents, etc. Ensures design and execution of all medical activities according to ERC compliance guidelines.
  • Keep abreast of the latest thinking and best-in-class practices for marketing platforms within the industry.

Essential Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) in Health or Life Sciences.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams within a Medical Affairs function.
  • Previous experience in the Oncology therapeutic area (specifically within the Solid Tumours field) is required.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Market Access, Marketing, and Sales teams.
  • International experience, including roles with above-country scope.
  • Full professional fluency in both English and Spanish.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Broader cross-functional experience (e.g., Commercial, Value & Access, Business Excellence & Execution) and additional international assignments.
